MotoGPTM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP:

Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda Team) claimed his third straight Riders’ title with Michelin to take his tally to five world crowns in motorcycle racing’s premier series, and his seventh in total. The 25-year old Spaniard finished clear of Andrea Dovizioso (2nd, Ducati Team) and Valentino Rossi (3rd, Movistar Yamaha MotoGP).

Michelin has won 414 MotoGP races and 29 titles.

2018 DAKAR  

Matthias Walkner (KTM Factory Team/Michelin) pocketed his first Dakar win to secure Michelin’s 35th victory since the event’s creation. Argentina’s Kevin Benavides (Monster Energy Honda/Michelin) was second, while the 2016 victor Toby Price (KTM Factory Team/Michelin) made it an all-Michelin podium.

2018 LE MANS 24 HOURS:

Toyota produced a one-two finish at Le Mans, with first place going to the two-time F1 champion Fernando Alonso, Sébastien Buemi and Kazuki Nakajima in the N°8 Toyota TS050 Hybrid, ahead of Conway/Lopez/Kobayashi in the N°7 prototype. Toyota Gazoo Racing earned Michelin’s 21st consecutive win in the world-famous endurance race since 1998.

2018 FIA WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP (WRC):

MICHELIN added a 26th FIA WRC Drivers’ crown since the category’s creation in 1979 thanks to Ford Fiesta WRC pair Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia who notched up their sixth straight title.

Toyota secured MICHELIN’s 28th Manufacturers’ title since the WRC’s creation in 1973.

MICHELIN’s score in world class rallying stands at 54 titles (Drivers and Manufacturers combined) since 1973.

Frenchman Jean-Eric Vergne and Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler/Michelin sealed the 2017/2018 FIA Formula E titles at the New York City E-Prix.

French all-rounder Romain Dumas shattered the all-time record for the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado, USA, in the electrically-powered, MICHELIN-equipped Volkswagen I.D. R Pikes Peak.

2018 FIM TRIAL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS:

Toni Bou (Montesa/Michelin) was again the man to beat on his way to his 12th straight Trial GP (outdoor) and X-Trial (indoor) titles.

The winner of the inaugural World Enduro Super Series (WESS) was Billy Bolt. The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing/Michelin rider finished clear of Germany’s Manuel Lettenbichler (KTM/Michelin).
